Conclusion of the International Summit on Biochemistry and Laboratory Medicine in Dubai

Dubai, May 30 – Four simultaneous international, Arab, and Gulf conferences on genetic sciences and related medical fields concluded today in Dubai. The events were held under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence and President of the Emirates Society for Genetic Diseases, with the participation of an elite group of scientists and specialized doctors from the region and around the world.

The events included the 26th International Summit on Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, held for the first time in 70 years in an Arab country, the 8th International Conference on Reducing Genetic Disorders, the 17th session of the Arab Union Conference on Biochemistry and Biological Sciences, and the meeting of the Saudi Biochemistry Society.

Her Excellency Hessa Buhumaid, Director General of the Community Development Authority in Dubai, visited the event today and toured the accompanying exhibition, alongside Dr. Maryam Mohammed Matar, founder and chairperson of the Emirates Society for Genetic Diseases.

Hessa Buhumaid emphasized that hosting the 26th International Summit on Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine in the UAE for the first time in an Arab country in 70 years highlights Dubai’s pioneering role in organizing and hosting global scientific events. It also showcases Dubai’s exceptional logistical capabilities in organizing four international medical conferences simultaneously.

She pointed out the importance of enhancing investment in health research and studies and encouraging young people to innovate and conduct scientific research. This is crucial for achieving health sustainability by providing a long, healthy, and rejuvenated life, and improving the quality of life, which is a priority of the UAE Government’s strategy.
