The UAE is hosting the proceedings of the International Conference on Laboratory Chemistry on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.
The International Conference for the 26th Summit on Clinical and Laboratory Chemistry revealed that 3 to 6% of newborns suffer from congenital disorders. It pointed out that several factors influence the development of congenital disorders, including genetic predisposition, maternal health, environmental exposure, and social and economic factors.
Data and medical statistics announced on the first day of the conference showed that 25% of congenital deformities have a genetic origin, with individual gene defects accounting for nearly 17% of these deformities.
