UAE GDA SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE INVITES SCIENTIFIC ABSTRACTS FOR THE 8TH INTERNATIONAL GENETICS CONFERENCE 2020.

An excellent opportunity for researchers, students and practitioners in the field of genetics to present your research, project and work to over 1500 international and regional scientists, genetic and life sciences researchers, experts in healthcare and allied medical community.

The Best Abstract Award:

    • The best abstract will be awarded a cash prize and/or an opportunity of professional development with an international research center.
    • Abstracts will be reviewed, and accepted submissions will be published in the conference proceedings.
    • Abstract submission opens for Oral and Poster Presentations.
    • Abstract Submissions will be divided into separate themes and abstracts are assigned to either plenary, parallel, or poster sessions.

DEADLINE OF SUBMISSION:

To have your abstract evaluated for presentation at the 8th International Genetic Disorders Conference and UAE GDA Genetic Disorders Prevention Award 2020, you must submit your abstract no later than 15th of September 2020. Any abstract received after this date will not be reviewed.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING AN ABSTRACT:

The scientific committee will accept abstracts based on their relevance and quality, structure, content and degree of innovation. Read the following section to ensure your abstract falls in the Conference’s Learning Objectives before submitting an abstract. Once you have read all the details, and agree to the terms and conditions, click on the” Submit Abstract” button at the bottom of the page to submit your abstract.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

  • Authors must demonstrate rigorous scientific methods during the research period.
  • Authors must demonstrate whether or not the research conducted was in any way supported by commercial organizations, including any grants or in-kind donations.
  • Do not include acknowledgements or brand names in your abstract.
  • If you wish to present, one of the abstract authors will be required to register for the event on or before 1st November 2020, after which your presentation will be cancelled; registering for the event is a separate and independent process.
  • Letters regarding the acceptance/rejection will be emailed to the presenting author by 25th October 2020. Rejected abstracts will not be reconsidered. Abstracts submitted on paper or by fax will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts without clear relevance to the event’s learning objectives will not be reviewed or considered.
  • An author may submit up to two (2) abstracts. Any additional abstracts will not be reviewed.

ORAL AND POSTER PRESENTATIONS:

Abstracts will be selected for oral or poster presentation, to be determined by conference scientific committee.

STRUCTURE OF THE ABSTRACT

The structure of the abstract should be as follows:

  • BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE
  • METHODOLOGY
  • RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
  • CONCLUSIONS

Oral Abstracts will include a 10-minute presentation by one of the abstract authors. Presenters will be limited to a maximum of 15 slides in PowerPoint Format. All oral presentations will be followed by questions from the audience.

Posters Abstracts will be presented from the 13th – 14th of November 2020.

  • Authors will be assigned a time period during which they are expected to be with their poster to answer questions from meeting attendees. All posters must remain on display for the entire duration on the conference and must be removed from the panels on the last day of the conference.
  • All posters must be in English.
  • Posters must be Portrait Orientation A1 size (59cm width x 84cm length). Do not print out and post in multiple sheets.
  • Abstracts should be 500 words in length excluding list of references.
  • Any acronyms in the title must be spelled out accurately.
  • All co-authors and affiliations must be included on the poster
